UML leader Nepal ready to work with Oli if party’s status restored to May 17, 2018

KATHMANDU: Senior leader of the CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal has proposed KP Oli to start afresh by restoring the party committees that existed on May 17, 2018.

Addressing the gathering of the Youth Federation cadres close to his faction in Kathmandu Saturday, senior leader Nepal said they were ready to collaborate with party Chairman KP Oli, provided the latter agreed to revoke the decisions of March 12.

“We are ready to forget past bitterness, so I propose a fresh start,” leader Nepal said, adding, “Let’s go back to the status of May 17, 2018, and start with a clean slate.”

He accused PM Oli of breaching the party statute and urged the latter to abide by party rules and regulations.

According to leader Nepal, his faction had proposed to organize the Parliamentary Party (PP) meeting at Singha Durbar, but the request fell on deaf ears.

“We will not attend the PP meetings called at a person’s residence, we want it to take place at the party’s parliamentary party office,” he said, adding, “We will attend the meeting and have our say, provided the meeting is held at the PP office.”

He refused to join the PP Board formed by PM Oli faction today.

Earlier, three leaders of Nepal-Khanal faction had reached Baluwatar to register their dissatisfaction with the signature of 38 lawmakers.
