Husband murders wife for seeking divorce



KATHMANDU: A police investigation has revealed that Santoshi Shrestha Sapkota, 32, of Kathmandu-14 was killed by her husband for seeking divorce.

At a press conference held at the Metropolitan Police Complex in Kathmandu on Wednesday, the police said that Santoshi was murdered by her husband.

According to the police, the relationship between the drug addict Santosh and his wife Santoshi was not good since long and the wife had sought divorce.

SSP Ashok Singh, the chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan Police, informed that the accused has already confessed the crime.

After the murder of his wife, the husband had looted her gold, money and mobile phone.

Santoshi was found murdered and wrapped in a sack in a hut in Balkhu at around 7.30 pm on Monday.
