‘2,500 UML cadres’ line up to face action’

KATHMANDU: Cadres of the CPN-UML’s rival faction gathered in the national conclave Wednesday exuded strength of unity by moving forward with the planned two-day gathering.

The gathering called by Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal camp kicked off earlier Wednesday.

One of the leaders of the rival camp said the national gathering sent a messages to the party Chair KP Oli and his faction that his arbitrary moves were unacceptable to them.

In reference to PM Oli’s warning to take action against those attending the meet today, UML leader Ganga Lal Tuladhar said, “We await action against us. About 2,500 leaders and cadres here have lined up to see what action the party chair will recommend.”

The national conclave of the Nepal-Khanal faction has decided to move forward with the intention of unifying the CPN-UML, which has been marred by factionalism and polarization in recent times.

However, they reproached Prime Minister and party Chair KP Oli for his moves that they deemed to shake the foundation of the party and the communist movement in the country.
