Development Committee to discuss on Fast Track, outer Ring Road projects



KATHMANDU: The Development and Technology Committee of the House of Representatives has made plans for discussing the infrastructure projects such as the Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track, Melamchi Water Supply Project, and outer Ring Road with organizations and representatives concerned in its upcoming meetings.

The first meeting of the Committee held today after the reinstatement of the House of Representatives said it has planned for discussing the projects affecting the people directly.

In its next meeting, the Committee plans to sit with the representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Nepali Army for the discussion about the Fast Track, according to Committee Under-Secretary Om Bahadur Karki.

As he said, the meeting will be held on 21 or 22 March. Melamchi water supply project and the outer Ring Road are the agenda of meetings thereafter, he said.

The participants of the meeting opined for discussing the most pressing development issues.

The previous meeting of the Committee was held on December 17 and the House was dissolved on December 20 which was later reinstated with the Supreme Court’s verdict on February 23.

The first meeting after the reinstatement was attended by the Committee members and the next round of meetings will have the participation of representatives from the related ministries and organizations as well.
