ATLANTA: Eight people, including six Asian women, were killed in shootings at three different spas in the US state of Georgia, BBC has reported.

Four people were killed at a massage parlor in Acworth, a suburb north of Atlanta, police said, and four others at two spas in the city itself.

Four of the victims were of Korean descent, South Korea has confirmed, according to BBC.

Authorities said police have arrested a 21-year-old man and was believed to be the suspect in the attacks.

No motive for the shootings has yet been established.

The first shooting occurred at Youngs Asian Massage Parlor in Acworth, Cherokee County, according to BBC.

Officials said two people died at the scene and three were taken to hospital, where two more died.

They later confirmed that the victims were two Asian women, a white woman and a white man.

A Hispanic man had been wounded, reports said.

Meanwhile, police were called to a “robbery in progress” at Gold Spa in north-east Atlanta, according to the report.

“Upon arrival, officers located three females deceased inside the location from apparent gunshot wounds,” BBC quoted officials as saying.

While there, officers were called to Aromatherapy Spa, where they found another woman shot dead.

Report said all four Atlanta victims were Asian women.
