Maoist Center to file review petition on SC decision

Kathmandu: The CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to file a review petition at the Supreme Court (SC) on its March 7 decision that nullified the merger of the CPN-UML and Maoist Center into the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

A meeting of the Central Committee of the party held at party office in Paris Danda Monday decided to this effect, according to Maoist Center Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The CC meet also decided to move forward by mobilizing leaders for expansion of party structures at all levels.

Shrestha also told reporters that the party would decide its next move regarding defecting leaders currently in Prime Minister KP Oli’s Cabinet.

“Since the leaders failed to produce any clarification even after a formal letter was sent seeking their position, the party would base its move on that inaction,” said Shrestha.
