Oli faction requests rival camp to defer national gathering called for March 17, 18

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli faction of the CPN-UML has asked the Madhav Kumar Nepal-Jhalanath Khanal camp to put off their national convention scheduled for March 17 and 18.

UML Secretary Pradeep Gyawali informed that the establishment faction made such a request to Nepal-Khanal camp at Monday’s party meet in Dhumbarai.

“Such gathering will not aid the party unity. Therefore, we requested them to defer the gathering,” said Gyawali.

Meanwhile, the disgruntled Nepal-Khanal faction has demanded cancellation of unilateral decisions made by the rival camp to put off their faction’s national gathering.

“We can cancel the meeting if Oli-faction is ready to withdraw its unilateral decisions of March 12,” said UML leader Bhim Rawal, who is in the disgruntled faction of the party.
