Embassy of Israel donates medical equipment to 3 hospitals



KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Israel in Nepal has donated medical equipment to the three hospitals of Nepal.

A statement issued by the embassy on Monday said it donated the equipment to Bir Hospital NAMS, Patan Hospital PAHS and Dhulikhel Hospital Kathmandu University Hospital in its effort to fight COVID-19 and other ailments and enhance its overall healthcare amenities.

The Patan Hospital, PAHS received anesthesia ventilators with 2 vaporizers, a patient monitor, and an electrocardiograph.

Likewise, the embassy donated an ABG Machine, and a patient monitor to Bir Hospital, and tumbler dryer to Dhulikhel Hospital.

Israel purchased this shipment of medical supplies, as a support and solidarity from Israel based on the needs of the hospital, the statement said.

The donations essentially aim to enhance and ease the healthcare facilities of the hospitals, the Embassy said.

Expressing contentment to be able to contribute to the medical sector of Nepal, Hanan Goder, Ambassador of Israel said, “This is a part of ongoing cooperation between Israel and Nepal. This donation is a symbol of our common struggle against COVID-19.”

Dr. Rabi Shakya, Director at Patan Hospital PAHS said, “The gift from Israeli Embassy is a wonderful gesture from well-wishers across the globe to Nepalese people struggling against the pandemic.”

“The long-standing relationship of Dhulikhel Hospital with the Embassy of Israel in Nepal has enhanced our pursuits in providing quality health services to all. This support to the laundry department is a critical element in ensuring good hygiene and high-end care to the patients. We are thankful to HE Ambassador Hanan and the team at the Embassy for the goodwill and support. We look forward to continued collaborations ahead”, said Dr. Ram KM Shrestha, Director of Dhulikhel Hospital.

Dr. Rishi Bista, Sr. Consultant Surgeon at Bir Hospital NAMS expressed sincere gratitude to the people of Israel for this gesture of love in these harsh COVID times.

This cooperation is manifestation of the cordial bilateral ties of Nepal-Israel friendship, according to the Embassy.
