Govt deploys around 1 mln security forces targeting Mahashivaratri

KATHMANDU: The government has deployed around 1 million security personnel on the premises of Pashupati Area for the security of pilgrims.

As in the previous years, no special pass system has been arranged for the devotees.

Visitors have to stand in a line to enter the Pashupati area.

For the elderly, volunteers will make special arrangement for them to facilitate their entry and worshiping at Pashupatinath.

The major four doors of Pashupati Temple will remain open at 4 am on the Day of Shivaratri, according to the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT).

Transport along the Chahabil to Tribhuvan International Airport road section will remain operational during the day.
