Prachanda-Nepal faction to knock SC’s door seeking a review of its decision

KATHMANDU: At a time when the KP Oli faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has stepped up efforts to activate the erstwhile CPN-UML, the Prachanda-Nepal faction led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” and Madhav Kumar Nepal is set to knock the Supreme Court’s door seeking review of the verdict.

The SC on Sunday had given its verdict in favor of the NCP led by Rishi Ram Kattel.

Following the SC’s decision, the Prachand-Nepal faction consulted legal practitioners and reached a conclusion that it would not seek a review of the court’s decision.

The faction is holding a meeting of the Standing Committee Monday afternoon at its party office in Perisdanda.

Ghanshyam Bhusal, a leader of the Prachanda-Nepal faction, termed the court’s decision “political” rather than constitutional or judicial. “The decision, therefore, needs a review,” he added.
