Kathmandu Mayor Cup Cricket: Police beats Bagmati by two runs



KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club has emerged victorious with a two-run win against Bagmati Pradesh in a match held under Kathmandu Mayor Cup Cricket Tournament on Saturday.

Police defeated Bagmati by two runs in the first match held at Mulpani Cricket Ground today.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Police managed to bowl out Bagmati for 72 runs in 25.2 overs.

Chasing the 73-run target set by Police, Bagmati achieved only 70 runs losing all wickets in 27.2 overs. For police, Manjit Shrestha made 15 runs and Sunil Dhamala, Anil Sah and Dilip Nath contributed 10 runs each.

On the bowling side, Bagmati’s Ario Paudel claimed four wickets, Nandan Yadav three and Sonu Devkota took one wicket of Police Club. While chasing the 73-run target, Bagmati’s captain Gyanendra Malla made highest 22 runs followed by Adil Khan with 10 runs.

In reply, Police Club’s Dipendra Singh Airee took four wickets, Lalit Rajbanshi grabbed three while Sagar Dhakal and Rashid Khan claimed one wicket each.

Dipendra Singh Airee was declared the player of the match.
