Poudel says NC should refrain from joining short-term govt

NAWALPARASI: Senior leader of Nepali Congress (NC) Ram Chandra Poudel has reiterated that the party should abstain from joining a ‘short-term’ government.

Addressing the party gathering at Kawasoti, Nawalparasi, Poudel reminded the party leadership that the NC has got a mandate to execute its responsibility as an opposition in the parliament; hence it should refrain from rejoicing the power.

“Ruling Nepal Communist Party has spoiled all mechanisms of governance from top to bottom, NC cannot reverse it in few months, neither can it perform efficiently owing to such mechanism,” leader Poudel explained, “Few months’ rejoicing the power will turn counter-productive to the party; hence, it should not go to form or join the government.”

He urged all leaders and cadres of the party to go to the people disillusioning them from the promises of the communists.
