Bipav outfit forms panel to hold talks with govt

KATHMANDU: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav has formed a two-member team to hold talks with the government.

The talks team is led by party’s Spokesperson Khadga Bahadur Bishwokarma ‘Prakanda’ in which Deepak Chalaune is the member.

According to a source close to Biplav outfit, Chand-led NCP will ask the government to release its cadres and leaders as a precondition during the talks.

Similarly, the other condition would be to lift the ban imposed on the party, according to sources.

The government has decided to hold talks with outlawed Nepal Communist Party (NCP) led by Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav.

Issuing a press release on Tuesday, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology said it has formed a two-member talks team led by Minister for Home Affairs Ram Bahadur Thapa.

Prime Minister KP Oli’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Dr Rajan Bhattarai is a member in the committee.
