HoR tells SC that Constitutional Council meeting was fraudulent

KATHMANDU: Speaker of House of Representatives Agni Prasad Sapkota has argued that the decisions of the Constitutional Council meeting held on December 15 were fraudulent and hence deserve being scrapped off.

Responding to the Supreme Court (SC) notice to submit a response relating to the writ filed by Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi, Speaker Sapkota in his response said that the decisions of the Constitutional Council meeting of the mentioned date deserved to be scrapped off for they do not meet the criteria for the meeting and the procedures required for such decision.

HoR Speaker Sapkota has also claimed that Chairman of the National Assembly Ganesh Timilsina also had told the public media on December 16 that no decisions had been taken by that meeting.

He has further added that the Parliamentary Secretariat received a letter about the constitutional council’s meeting of December 15 only on at 20.15 on December 20.

These all evidences establish that the decision of the Council’s meeting of December 15 are fraudulent and ill-intent hence they deserve being scrapped off by the SC, Speaker Sapkota has concluded in the reply submitted to the SC.
