Prachanda-Nepal agree on 50-50 sharing in all party committees

KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has made a 50-50 “power-sharing” deal in all committees of the party.

According to Prachanda-Nepal faction, Chairmen duo Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal have signed a nine point agreement  “Criteria and Basis for Filling Vacancies of the Party Committee and Sister organization” on Sunday.

According to the agreement, both groups will have their presence in the party committees on a 50-50 ratio.

Once the agreement comes into effect, the vacancies in the state, local and district in-charges and deputy in-charges, office bearers of the sister organizations will be filled by the same group, however, the standard for the representation or integration will be generally by 50 percent.

Previously, when the UML and the Maoists were united, the committees were formed at the ratio of 60-40 representation.
