Vice President Pun says HoR dissolution leading nation toward catastrophe

KATHMANDU: Making his first public comment on the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), Vice President Nanda Bahadur Pun has remarked that the dissolution of HoR has led the nation toward political disaster.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Federation of Nepali Journalists in Kathmandu Wednesday, Vice President Pun pointed out that Nepal is facing a political catastrophe due to the dissolution of HoR.

“Nepali peoples’ expectation of prosperity, peace and stability together with abiding by the democratic constitution has been replaced by the deepening frustration and anger after the dissolution of HoR,” Vice President said.

He added that the frustration and anger among the people were not a good sign for the country.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari had stamped consent to Prime Minister KP Oli’s recommendation for the dissolution of the House of Representatives on December 20.
