Police arrest one from Kanchanpur in Bhagarathi murder allegation

DHANGADHI: Kanchanpur Police has arrested a person of Dogadakedar rural municipality in connection with the murder case of Bhagarathi Bhatta.

According to the police sources, a male who holds public office and is from the same rural municipality as Bhagarathi has been nabbed from Eithpur of Bhim Dutta Municipality of Kanchanpur district and has been handed over to Baitadi police.

The arrested male had come to Mahendranagar a few days after the murder of Bhagarathi.

In the meantime, Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ has said that the police have already reached “very close” to the murderer and would make him public soon.

Receiving the memorandum submitted by women lawyers, Minister Thapa assured the delegation that the culprit would be made public soon.

Similarly, SSP Mukesh Kumar Singh, the Spokesperson of Sudurpaschim Province Police also claimed that the police have reached very close to the murderer and would make the details public once the report of Forensic Science laboratory comes to the police.

Bhagarathi Bhatta, a 17 year old student of Dogadakedar-7, Chadepani had gone missing while returning from school to her home on February 3. She was found murdered after rape and her dead body was recovered on February 4.
