‘Dictator’ couldn’t detain me for even six hours: Jhakri



DHANKUTA: Nepal Communist Party (NCP) central member Ram Kumari Jhakri has said that she has the confidence that Nepali people will win the fight against Prime Minister that has become more powerful.

In a protest rally organized by the Prachanda-Nepal faction in Dhankuta on Saturday, Jhakri said that the ‘dictator’ could not detain her for even six hours.

Jhakri said she was released after the leaders reacted harshly, civil society spoke out, the media took up the issue and people took to the streets.

The ‘dictator’ got frightened and released me, she added.

Police had arrested Jhakri by handing over an arrest warrant under the ‘act of treason against the state’ from her Shankhamul-based residence at 1 pm on Thursday.

She was later released after five and a half hours in police custody.
