Prachanda says Constitution likely to fall into trap

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the constitution achieved at the cost of priceless lives of thousands of martyrs is likely to fall into a trap.

Addressing a book release program on the occasion of People’s War Day organized by Barbardia Municipality in Kathmandu on Saturday, he said that there was a danger of losing the achievements gained through immense sacrifices made by the thousands of martyrs.

He said, “This life story has come in such a situation when the federal republican democratic political system is on the verge of collapse.  In this crucial situation, you published this book about the life story of martyrs who shed thier priceless blood for the historic change in the country.”

I believe its special meaning and significance will remain in the history of Nepal. It will also inspire us defend the issues of inclusiveness, federal democratic republic and secularism that we have gained through supreme sacrifices made by thousands of martyrs.
