Prachanda-Nepal faction issues circular to observe ‘People’s War Day’



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is celebrating “People’s War Day” on Falgun 1, i.e. February 13.

According to the NCP Prachanda-Nepal faction’s Central Office Secretary Shree Ram Dhakal, all districts have been asked to celebrate the “People’s War Day” organizing the program of their convenience on the day then the erstwhile Maoists formally declared “People’s War” in Nepal in 1996.

Dhakal said that the party has organized a program at the Central Office at Perisdanda in Kathmandu.

Interestingly, NCP’s KP Oli faction which has few former Maoist leaders including Ram Bahadur Thapa, the war strategist then, and in a key post in the cabinet, has scheduled no formal program on the day.

The PM Oli-led NCP’s Office Secretary said to the media that there was no program on behalf of the party.
