KATHMANDU: Chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has objected to the government’s decision to introduce rules requiring Nepali women under the age of 40 to seek family approval when travelling abroad.

Commenting on the latest provision introduced by the Department of Immigration those Nepali women under the age of 40 years to seek family approval when travelling abroad, RPP Chair Thapa has objected to the provision.

RPP leader Thapa tweeted instantly on the provision on Wednesday.

The Department of Immigration has proposed an amendment to the procedure for women travelling abroad alone.

The Department has sent a proposal to the Ministry of Home Affairs to amend the visit visa provision of the Immigration Procedures 2008.

According to the new procedure, when women under the age of 40 go abroad alone, the consent of the Ward Office and family is now mandatory.
