Time will soon come to gherao Singha Durbar and Baluwatar, Prachanda warns

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has warned Prime Minister KP Oli to resign immediately to avert any unfortunate circumstances.

“Either resign without wasting a minute or face the power of the people,” Prachanda warned PM Oli while addressing a mass meeting in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

He warned that people would not gherao both Singha Durbar and Baluwatar if PM Oli did not listen to the people.

“I warn you, Prime Minister Oli, either step down or face consequences as people will not excuse you for your undemocratic and unconstitutional moves,” Prachanda said amid cheers and applauds.

Warning of another people’s revolt, Prachanda said, “There will be another people’s revolt in the country that will wipe away all unconstitutional and undemocratic elements.”

Meanwhile, he also asked the Supreme Court justices to “look at the presence of the people” and make “quick decisions” accordingly.

“Hope you have understood what people want. I am sure you (justices) will give its verdict in favor of the people. “If not, there will be a catastrophe. Mind you, if the verdict does not come in favor of the people, democracy and the constitution, I can’t say what the situation would be.”

Urging PM Oli not to remain in illusion, Prachanda said some people considered PM Oli’s confidants, including two ministers are waiting to join the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the NCP.

“Resign immediately and issue a statement for your undemocratic steps,” Prachanda warned PM Oli.

“You have made a blunder,” Prachanda warned PM Oli adding, “I have become Madhav Kumar Nepal’s cadre, not vice versa as claimed by PM Oli.”

Prachanda also assured some “democratic countries and neighbors” not to suspect his party’s intention towards democracy.

He also smelt a rat in the activities of the Election Commission (EC) warning, “Don’t take it easy. People in the constitutional bodies should not take it easy. People will not tolerate.”

Prachanda also urged EC not to tremble its legs to make a quick decision.
