COVID-19 suggested reviewing border policy: Home Minister Thapa



KATHMANDU: Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa has said that the COVID-19 pandemic has drawn our attention towards reviewing the international border policy.

Speaking at the concluding session of a workshop of agencies involved in international border security and management of the country here Monday, he said there have been suggestions to keep the border more controlled and regulated.

Home Secretary Maheshwar Neupane said the workshop has provided recommendations and drawn conclusions by incorporating the policy and practical issues related to border security and management. This will make border security more effective.

Inspector General of Armed Police Force Sailendra Khanal also said that the event proved fruitful in making border security and management more efficient and effective.

Representatives of the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and ministries and agencies concerned with international border security and management took part in the two-day event.
