DHANGADHI: Police have arrested a ward member on suspicion of killing his girlfriend in Kailali.
According to DSP Pratik Bista, the spokesperson of District Police Office Kailali, Niraj Chaudhary, a ward member of Garuiganga-3, has been taken under control by the police on suspicion of his involvement in the murder of his girlfriend, Sanjita Chaudhary.
Sanjita was found dead in the room of the acting Chairman of Ward No 3 of Gauriganga Municipality on Sunday morning.
The body of deceased Sanjita has been kept at Seti Provincial Hospital for autopsy, the police said.
The police informed that Ward member Niraj has been taken into custody for interrogation.
