BIRATNAGAR: The meeting of the Province 1 assembly scheduled for two o’clock on Sunday is yet to begin owing to the dispute between the two factions of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

The session is yet to begin as the two factions of the NCP are engaged in a dispute as a no-confidence motion has already been filed against Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai by a majority of NCP lawmakers.

Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai and his faction has been insisting that the 16 lawmakers who have been dismissed by him should not be allowed to enter the hall while the dissident faction has been claiming that they should be allowed to participate in the meeting.

Lawmakers of the Prachanda-Nepal faction have alleged the Prime Minister KP Oli-led faction of showing apolitical stance to evade the no-confidence motion.
