Party legitimacy claim of NCP factions to be resolved legally: ECN

KATHMANDU:  The dispute over the legitimacy of the party claimed by two factions of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is likely to undergo a series of legal processes.

Even though the NCP is divided politically, both Prachanda and Oli factions had been ruling out the claim over the legitimacy at the office of the Election Commission, Nepal (ECN).

A central committee (CC) meeting of the Prachanda-Nepal faction held on Monday decided to claim over the legitimacy.

Following the decision, the ECN is now in a mood to sort out the claim over the party legitimacy of the two factions through legal processes if they officially file a case at the ECN, said Election Commissioner Ishwari Prasad Paudel.
