DAMAULI: Nepali Congress senior leader Ram Chandra Poudel today said that NC should raise a collective voice against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

“Given that NC has termed the HoR dissolution unconstitutional, it should openly seek a solution to it. Democracy and the constitution will catch pace only after the reinstatement of the lower house,” he said while addressing a gathering organized here by various NC sister organizations.

The HoR should complete its full term of five years, he maintained. “NC’s goal and a line of thought will be clear following the restoration of the HoR. NC’s line of thought is the dissolution of the lower house is unconstitutional and its goal is to make it constitutional,” said the leader expressing the hope that the Supreme Court would restore the HoR.

“NC has not reached its decisive struggle as it believes that the apex court will deliver a verdict in favour of justice. We should not reach our decisive struggle. We have faith and belief in the court.”

Likewise, other speakers, acting president of the NC, Tanahun Jit Prakash Ale, National Assembly member Prakash Pantha, mayor of Shuklagandaki Municipality Kisan Gurung and president of Nepal Women Association Pabitra Poudel expressed their confidence that the court would restore the dissolved HoR.
