The vaccination campaign against COVID-19 had started on Wednesday, exactly one year after the start of COVID testing in Nepal.

In the first phase of the campaign, health workers working on the frontline, ambulance and hearse drivers, women health volunteers, inmates, airport and checkpoint staff, and security personnel are being vaccinated.

According to the Family Welfare Division of the Ministry of Health, it was decided to vaccinate nine percent of people in the first phase.

However, as one million doses of vaccine have been included in the grant, only 430,000 will be vaccinated in the first phase.

It is said that the second phase of the campaign will start only after purchasing and completing the rest.

In the second phase, it is planned to vaccinate 17 percent of the total population i.e. 5,164,269 people.
