CHITWAN: Prime Minister KP Oli has once again raised the issue of the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Addressing a mass assembly organized by his faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) in Chitwan on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli said that that the construction work of the Ram temple at ‘Ram’s birthplace’ has already started.

Sharing that a master plan is being charted out for the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhyapuri, he said, noting,

“The idol of Lord Ram has been already constructed while the idol of Sita is under construction. The idols of Laxman and Hanuman will also be erected”, he further said. In the Ram Navami next year, a constellation ceremony would be held a grand manner in Ayotdhyapuri, the birthplace of Lord Ram”.

“This area would turn into a spectacular tourism site. Many pilgrims would make it their destination”, PM Oli said.

Prime Minister Oli hoped that Chitwan would be a destination for Hindus, archaeologists, civilization, and cultural experts of the world after the construction of the temple.

He said that Chitwan and Ayodhyapuri would also be the major contributors to the country’s prosperity by making it a destination for religious tourism.

Earlier, PM Oli had made a comment about Lord Ram’s birthplace claiming that India has taken to cultural encroachment by ‘creating a fake Ayodhya’.

PM Oli had stated that some distortion of facts could have gone in the claim of India’s Ayodhya as the birthplace of Lord Ram.

“Although the real Ayodhya lies at Thori in the west of Birgunj, India have claimed the Indian site as the birthplace of Lord Ram,” PM Oli had said, “We also believe that deity Sita got married to Prince Ram of India. Actually, Ayodhya is a village lying west of Birgunj.”
