HoR Dissolution: Prachanda-Nepal faction staging demonstration in Butwal today

RUPANDEHI: The disgruntled Prachanda-Nepal faction of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is staging a demonstration against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) in Butwal on Thursday.

The protest rally is taking place at the open space near the provincial hospital at the initiation of NCP Lumbini Pradesh Struggle Committee.

To be held at 1 pm today, leaders including former Prime Ministers Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias ‘Prachanda’ and Madhav Kumar Nepal will address the mass meeting, informed Thakur Gaire, the coordinator of the struggle committee.

Participants will take out rallies from four different places – Golpark in the north, Jitgadhi in the west, Chauraha in the east-south – prior to converging into the mass meeting in Butwal.

Over 20,000 cadres from six districts of previous Lumbini zone are expected to participate in the demonstration, according to the organizing committee.
