KATHMANDU: A female soldier of the Nepal Army (NA) has undergone counter-insurgency and jungle warfare training for the first time.
Radhika Thapa, a soldier at the Counter-Insurgency and Jungle Warfare Academy took the training from November 3 to January 19.
Thapa of Thapatole in Melamchi Municipality-2 of Sindhupalchok district had joined the national army on June 29, 2012.
She successfully completed the training and set a remarkable example of courage and responsibility, according to the NA Directorate of Public Relations.
The extremely difficult training, which lasts for three months, teaches military knowledge and skills including forest navigation, trap construction, forest survival techniques, and snakebite management.
