KASKI: Coronavirus negative test report obtained through Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method will not be necessary for trekking to Annapurna Base Camp.
The world-famous trekking route opened on January 14 by making PCR report mandatory for tourists.
A meeting of the Chomrong Tourism Entrepreneurs Committee on Tuesday decided that PCR report is no longer required for trekkers.
According to Dilip Gurung, secretary of the committee, the decision was taken as the PCR report was not mandatory considering the declining rate of the infection.
The committee has asked trekkers visiting the base camp to come only after adopting necessary precautions considering their health condition.
