NA launches ‘Operation Mahahunt-7’ against poaching, 15 arrested in two months



KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army (NA) has launched ‘Operation Mahahunt -7’ against poachers of rare wildlife protected in national parks and wildlife reserves.

In the two Nepali months (Poush and Magh) of the operation, 15 people have been arrested from different parts of the country on charges of being involved in poaching of wild animals.

The operation is underway to control the poaching of rare wildlife protected in national parks and wildlife reserves.

In addition to the army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, reserve administration, and locals have been participating in the campaign.

The army has been conducting public awareness programs on the protection of rare wildlife, natural resources, environment, and environmental protection and wildlife poaching control in the settlements, schools, and colleges around national parks and wildlife reserves.
