We opted for election to listen to people’s decision: Minister Poudel

KATHMANDU: Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Poudel has justified the government’s decision to dissolve the parliament as the best means to get the people’s opinion.

Speaking at the first general meeting of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, Minister Poudel remarked that if the country could not decide on any issue, an election is the best means to go to the people for a fresh mandate.

He claimed that the constitution has envisaged and managed the mid-term election as well.

In a different context, Minister Poudel informed that the government would make the vaccine against COVID-19 free of cost to all Nepalis.

However, he added that while distributing the vaccines, the government would follow the criteria set by the World Health Organization.
