 275 Nepalis died in Malaysia in 2020: Nepali Embassy



KUALALUMPUR: As many as 275 Nepali migrant workers have died in Malaysia in the past one year.

A total of 275 Nepali migrant workers lost their lives from January to December, 2020 due to various causes, informed labor attaché at the Nepali Embassy in Malaysia Prakash Panthi.

Speaking on a weekly Facebook live conducted by the Embassy, labor attaché Panthi said Nepali nationals died due to suicides, road accidents, accidents occurred while working in the company, and other health issues.

The number of suicide cases is also on the rise in the country which has been a matter of worry to the Embassy, said Panthi.
