Police, marijuana smugglers exchange fire in Bara; one nabbed



BARA: Police and marijuana smugglers exchanged fire in the district on Saturday night.

A group of smugglers fired at the joint police team at Bhaktalal Khola in Nijgadh Municipality-13. The police team was deployed from the Area Police Office, Nijgadjh, and Temporary Police Post, Ratanpur.

According to DSP Gautam Mishra of the District Police Office, Bara, a man was arrested with a gun after the police team fired five rounds of fire in retaliation.

The arrested is Iman Singh Tamang, 47, of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan-6 in Makwanpur.

Police have recovered 102 kg of cannabis and a loaded homemade gun from his possession.
