NCP Vice Chair Gautam launches party unification campaign

KATHMANDU: Vice Chairman of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Bamdev Gautam has initiated a party unification national campaign.

Gautam who had played a crucial role in the unification between the then CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) in the past has initiated the campaign yet again saying that the NCP split is against the mandate and spirit of the Nepali people.

“The NCP, which is beacon of hope for all the Nepali people, has been on the verge of split not because of its party-line, political ideology which believes in the multi-party democratic socialism but due to the unilateral working style, power-hungry attitude, governing system and inefficiency of the top leaders of the party,” reads a press note issued by Gautam.

Arguing that both the stepts taken by party chairmen KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda are wrong, he has urged all the party rank and file to heap pressure on the top-notch leaders for the party unification.

He in the press note has stressed the reunification of the party concluding that party chairman  Prachanda’s move to file no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Oli and Oli’s step to dissolve the House of Representatives (HoR) without facing the no-confidence motion are worng.
