Service seekers facing trouble in submitting online form for driving license

KATHMANDU: Service-seekers have got it difficult to submit an online form for a driving license as various problems have occurred in the server of the Department of Transport Management.

The Department admitted to problems in its server. Service-seekers have complained that the server went down, making it difficult for them in submitting the form, said the Department Director Ram Chandra Poudel. Discussions were underway to upgrade the server, he said.

The Department has allocated a limited number of licenses adding to the woes of service-seekers. Discussions were underway to remove the arrangement for allocating limited license numbers, he said. “A decision on collecting forms of all interested service seekers and calling them for the examination will be held soon,” he said.

The Department resumed acceptance of application forms from Thursday after server disruption for two consecutive
days.

“It is natural that there had been a large flow of service seekers for a license as the service resumed only after 10 months. Discussions are underway on how to manage it,” he said, adding that the Department managed for service-seekers to fill out an online form for the license amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
