COVID-19 insurance clearance gains pace



KATHMANDU: The clearance of the COVID-19 insurance has gained momentum, of late.

The Insurance Committee has expedited clearance following the direction by the Ministry of Finance.  The ministry last month had directed the concerned insurance companies to clear the insured amount as soon as possible.

According to the Insurance Committee, 20 non-life insurance companies paid back Rs  3,44,450,000 to 3,000 insured people in the last six days.

As per the data provided by the Committee as of Tuesday, 21,501 insured have received Rs 2,096,325,000 in insurance.
