Westerly wind to cause rainfall till Wednesday



KATHMANDU: The weather will be partly to generally cloudy with chances of light rainfall at most places due to the influence of Westerly wind in the coming two days, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Meteorologist Samir Shrestha said there are chances of cloudy weather with light rainfall in many places of the country until Wednesday due to the impact of the Westerly wind.

“There is no possibility of heavy rainfall and there is little possibility of sunny days till Wednesday,” he said. This weather system will start weakening from Wednesday.

Kathmandu Valley is misty this morning. Similarly, light snowfall took place in high hilly and mountainous districts. The weather is generally cloudy throughout the country at present.

It will be generally cloudy throughout the country in the afternoon with light to moderate snowfall taking place in the high hilly and mountainous districts as well as light rain is possible at a few places of the hilly regions of Gandaki Province, Lumbini Province, Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province and at one or two places of Province 1 and Bagmati Province.

As per the latest weather bulletin shared by the Division, the minimum temperature of Kathmandu Valley was 9.5 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 17.4 degrees Celsius.

The lowest minimum temperature throughout the country was recorded in Jomsom at minus 0.5 degrees Celsius and the highest maximum temperature was recorded in Biratnagar at 27.4 degrees Celsius Monday, the Division stated.
