Change in attitude towards private sector necessary for investment-friendly environment: FNCCI Senior VP Dhakal

BAGLUNG: Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Chandra Prasad Dhakal has said that business environment cannot be created in the country unless the government considers the private sector as its business partner.

Addressing the General Assembly of the Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Baglung on Sunday, Dhakal cited the example of Malaysia because of which it developed in a short span of time as the then government considered the private sector as its business and development partner.

Senior Vice President Dhakal, who is also the chairman of the IME Group, said that the state should change its traditional view of the private sector to create an investment-friendly environment in the country, facilitate the private sector for investment and build a prosperous Nepal.

According to him, the traditional rules, laws and state approaches have discouraged the entrepreneurs rather than facilitating them.
