Govt carrying out efforts to reduce coronavirus infection: DPM Pokharel



KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokharel has said that the government has been working to reduce coronavirus infection by developing necessary health infrastructure.

At a program organized by Jyapu Cultural Development Trust here today, Deputy Prime Minister Pokharel shared that the recovery rate of coronavirus infection is increasing in recent period. He added that the government has now made an arrangement to carryout PCR test for coronavirus infection at 80 places in the country.

The DPM said, “We had sent the sample of the first case of coronavirus infection in Hong Kong for PCR test. Now,  arrangement has been made to carry out PCR test and treatment in 80 places. ”

He clarified that the government made some correction in Guthi bill due to constructive suggestions of Jyapu Society. DPM Pokharel opined, “The Guthis in Kathmandu Valley have been promoting religion and culture. The Guthi is the property of the people.”

Similarly, Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, said that there is support and harmony of the government towards the Yomari Punhi.

He shared that the federal government and local government have been paying attention to conserve procession, festival and culture.

Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Bidya Sundar Shakya, Deputy-Mayor Hari Prabha Khadgi and Trust Chairperson Mangal Krishna Singh, among others expressed the view that the Jyapu Society has been involved in development and upliftment of its culture.
