Demonstration staged against Chinese company in PM Oli’s home district

KATHMANDU: A massive demonstration has staged in Jhapa, the home district of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, against a project by a Chinese company.

Protesters called for attention to ‘illegal activities’ taking place at the Damak Clean Industrial Park which is being built under China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The demonstration was held against the company following issues in the recruitment and management of staff.

The protest rally organized by the Federal Limbuwan Forum was attended by over 5,000 protesters from indigenous and other minority communities.
