Nepal sixth in Russia’s priority list for COVID vaccine: Ambassador Novikov



KATHMANDU: Russian Ambassador to Nepal Aleksei Novikov called on Minister for Health and Population Hridayesh Tripathi on Monday.

Ambassador Novikov expressed his congratulations and best wishes to the newly-appointed minister.

During the meeting held at the Ministry, they discussed the historical friendly relations between Nepal and Russia as well as the current political situation in Nepal, according to Minister Tripathi’s Secretariat.

Ambassador Novikov expressed his commitment to support Nepal in the fight against COVID-19 by providing health supplies.

Ambassador Novikov said that Russia has kept Nepal as the sixth priority country to provide vaccines out of 108 countries in the world currently requesting vaccines against the pandemic.

During the meeting, Minister Tripathi expressed his belief that the relations between Nepal and Russia would be further strengthened and thanked them for their support in the battle against COVID-19.
