Prachanda-Nepal faction set to bring no-confidence motion against Sherdhan Rai



BIRATNAGAR: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is preparing to bring a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Sherdhan Rai of State-1.

The Prachanda-Nepal faction had on Friday registered a no-confidence motion against Bagmati Chief Minister Dormani Poudel.

Sources said final preparations were being made to bring a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Rai.

The source claimed that the Prachanda-Nepal faction has a majority in the state assembly.

The NCP has 68 lawmakers out of 93 in the state assembly. Of them, 52 are from erstwhile CPN-UML and 16 are from the then Maoist (Center).
