Nepal bars entry of passengers from UK after new coronavirus strain

KATHMANDU: The Government of Nepal has decided to ban entry to Nepal from the United Kingdom after the emergence of a new and more infectious strain of coronavirus there.

A meeting of the Direction Committee pf the COVID-19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) held on Tuesday afternoon decided to bar all passengers coming from the UK.

Similarly, the meeting also banned the entry of passengers to Nepal from other countries arriving through transit in the United Kingdom, said Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers Mahendra Prasad Guragain.
