Oli faction shuts down Dhumbarahi-based NCP Office

KATHMANDU: With the two factions of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) at a war footing to claim party’s legitimacy,  the Oli faction has closed down Dhumbarahi-based NCP office since Monday.

According to NCP sources, PM Oli’s Office Secretary of NCP Ishwori Rijal has asked the office staffers to stay at home and not to open the party office until futher notice.

When asked about the office closure, NCP’s another office secretary Shree Ram Dhakal replied that he also came to know that the office staff have been asked to stay at their rented rooms and not at the party office.

“I came to know that Office Secretary Ishwori Rijal has asked the office staffers to go and live at their rented rooms, and the staffers are gone,” Dhakal told the reporters.

One of the two secretaries of NCP’s Party Office, Dhakal is at Peris Danda and he informed that the party office there is open.

Amidst the mounting tension in the NCP, both Oli faction and Prachanda-Nepal group have called their meetings in two different places.

PM Oli group meeting took place at Baluwatar this morning is over now whereas Prachanda-Nepal faction meeting called at Karki Banquet, Babarmahal is scheduled for 1 pm.

The office staffers claim that the party office has been closed as an attempt to capture the party office.
