Major three parties term Parliament dissolution undemocratic and unconstitutional (with video)

To unveil protest plan after internal discussions

KATHMANDU: A meeting of major three political parties convened by the main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) decided to launch protest programs against Parliament dissolution after internal discussions.

The meeting was held at NC headquarters in Sanepa on Monday evening after Prime Minister KP Oli dissolved the Parliament.

The meeting has termed the dissolution of the Parliament as undemocratic and unconstitutional.

NCP Spokesperson Narayankaji Shrestha said that all the three parties will hold a meeting of the Central Committee on Tuesday and sit for discussions together again

The meeting was attended by leaders from the Nepal Communist Party (NCP), NC and Janata Samajwadi Party.

As soon as Prime Minister Oli dissolved the Parliament on Sunday, the leaders of the three parties came together and decided to protest together against Oli’s move

Prachanda-Nepal faction and opposition parties are dissatisfied with Prime Minister Oli following the dissolution of the parliament.

They have taken strong exception to the Prime Minister’s move to dissolve the parliament terming it ‘unconstitutional, anti-democratic and against the mandate of the people’.

An emergency meeting called at Baluwatar by Prime Minister Oli on Sunday recommended the President to dissolve the parliament.

President Bidya Bhandari dissolved the parliament at the recommendation of the cabinet meeting and announced the fresh date for the mid-term poll on April 30 and May 10, 2021.
