No-confidence motion against PM Oli was registered Sunday morning

Prachanda’s name was suggested as Prime Minister

KATHMANDU: Hours before Prime Minister KP Oli proposed dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR), a no-confidence motion signed by as many as 90 ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) lawmakers against PM Oli was registered at the Parliament Secretariat on Sunday.

Sources said the no-confidence motion was filed against PM Oli proposing NCP Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” as the next Prime Minister.

Prachanda’s name was proposed in accordance with the constitutional provision that a no-confidence motion should be moved along with the name of the future prime minister.

Meanwhile, with the dissolution of the House of Representatives, the proposal has become meaningless.
