KATHMANDU: The influential leader of Nepali Congress (NC) and lawmaker Gagan Thapa has said that the validity of the people’s vote for the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is over.
Commenting on KP Oli led Council of Minister’s recommendation for the dissolution of the parliament, NC leader Thapa has said that NCP led government has ended the legitimacy of the people’s vote for its government now.
In his tweet, Thapa has described the move as unconstitutional, undemocratic, and unacceptable.
“The constitution has the assumption of five-year-term of the parliament,” Thapa has tweeted, “Prime Minister’s whimsical decision to dissolve the parliament is unconstitutional and undemocratic. It shall surely have some interpretations, however, whatever the interpretation, the legitimacy of the people’s vote for NCP three years before has ended with this recommendation.”
